ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
According to the Colombian star has emerged as a transfer target for Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr following a season in which he played a key role in their Premier League triumph. Although Barcelona have also been linked with Diaz, sources suggest the Saudi club is preparing to push for his signature as part of their bid to strengthen ahead of the 2025-26 season.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Diaz still has two years left on the contract he signed when joining Liverpool from Porto in 2022. However, there has yet to be progress on a new agreement. Hence, the Reds might look to sell him off at the best price this summer, which would also help them fund an ambitious club record move for Wirtz.

DID YOU KNOW?
Despite speculation surrounding Cristiano Ronaldo’s future at Al-Nassr, the club’s pursuit of Díaz is said to be unrelated to the Portuguese star’s next move. Ronaldo has stirred conversation with a cryptic social media post reading “this chapter is over,” but insiders maintain the club continues to scout new players regardless of whether the five-time Ballon d’Or winner stays or leaves. There’s a belief in some quarters that Ronaldo could ink a fresh deal with Al-Nassr, though others suggest he may opt for a short-term move elsewhere, potentially to a team competing in the Club World Cup.

WHAT NEXT FOR AL-NASSR?
Al-Nassr are not limiting their recruitment strategy to just Diaz, as reports have also linked the Saudi outfit with a possible move for Chelsea’s Moises Caicedo. The Ecuadorian midfielder recently capped off his season by scoring in Chelsea’s Europa Conference League victory in Wroclaw, and despite Al-Nassr’s interest, the Blues are reportedly keen to keep hold of the 22-year-old, who remains an important piece of their midfield plans.
