ToggleWHAT HAPPENED?
Nwaneri, at just 17 years and 247 days, became Arsenal’s second-youngest Premier League scorer, second only to club legend Fabregas, who achieved the feat at 17 years and 113 days against Blackburn Rovers in 2004. The prodigious midfielder showcased his talent by calmly finishing Raheem Sterling’s well-timed cutback, securing his first goal in England’s top tier.

WHAT ARTETA SAID
After the match, Arteta didn’t hold back in his praise for the young midfielder.
"He is the second youngest [Premier League goalscorer] in our history," Arteta told . "That's a story in itself. He's brave. You see the reaction of fans and they were singing 'he's one of our own'. I think we have to put brick by brick and make sure the cement doesn't get dry. Hopefully, we can build a beautiful thing with him."

THE BIGGER PICTURE
While Nwaneri stole headlines, Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard delivered a performance that underscored his return to full fitness after a two-month injury setback. His creativity was instrumental, particularly in the opening stages when he linked superbly with Bukayo Saka to set up Arsenal’s first goal. The Norwegian midfielder orchestrated Arsenal’s play, seamlessly connecting the midfield and attack and his commanding presence helped dictate the pace of the game, ensuring the Gunners maintained control from start to finish.
“It’s not a coincidence. The team flows in a different way when he is playing,” Arteta said.
