According to Football Insider, Tottenham Hotspur have failed with a fresh approach for Fernando Llorente.

The experienced centre-forward left Spurs on a free transfer in June following the expiration of his contract.

According to Football Insider, Mauricio Pochettino’s side recently made an attempt to re-sign the Spaniard – offering him a contract on reduced terms.

However, the report claims that the 34-year-old rejected the approach as he was simply not prepared to accept the huge drop in his previous £90,000-a-week deal.

Llorente only actually managed two Premier League goals for Tottenham. That said, he did score eight times in all competitions during the 2018-19 campaign, and certainly played his part in the club reaching the 2019 Champions League final.

It will certainly be interesting to see where Llorente ends up in the coming weeks.
